Stoneware, Glazes, Acrylics, 38"t x 16 "w x 12" d

Part of the Dicho Series, this piece tells a story of absence. The dicho translates roughly to: "Absence makes the heart grow fonder". The dicho on bands around the wrap is held on with bits of rope and the wrap falls about her hips revealing the sunsetting sky and clouds. The back of the torso shows clouds and an empty chair where the story of a relationship ends. The carved wooden hands at the shoulders refer to a giving and receiving of time and friendship or love, which is either welcomed or released.
