O'Keeffe's Chair

SOLD
Stoneware, Glazes, Acrylics, 54"t x 13"w x 14" d

This is the third in the artist chair series and like the others it functions simultaeously as the story teller and the story of Georgia O'Keefe's life. Surrounding the chair built of "dried bones" are shapes and elements that refer to her time as a painter in New York and then in New Mexico: a New York cityscape, her adobe home with its ladder to the outdoors, which she loved so much, a cow skull and a flower are carved to the back and the reverse, and a series of turquoise clouds are featured on the front.
