| These wallpieces are a departure from my larger scale sculptural work. They are pairs of torso forms which are more meditative and quiet. Each pair has a top piece, made of a matrix of braches- suggesting growth and the future- and its reflection made from a matrix of bones, suggesting past and ancestry. Between the two pieces is the interesting part, it is where we are in this world, between life and death. The riverstones evoke the edge of the river Styx and the imagery relates how to life a complete and fulfilled life. The stones also resemble seed pods or eggs, adding to the content. The bee returns as a symbol of intense activity and my signature. |
