I have been thinking about the many levels of proof and how we are able to prove our existence: mathematical proofs, DNA, thump prints, memory, photographs, etc. In this piece the female form is dressed in a blue wrap in which there is a raised text describing my thoughts on memory and how they can be made almost permanent with photographs. Of course, photographs used to be absolute proof, but with computers, photographs are now completely alterable and cannot be considered the truth at all. Underneath the wrap, the DNA strands are exposed suggesting the interconnectedness of one's mental memory and one's chemical memory. One cannot exist without the other. |
