This piece represents my ongoing interest in aspects of Judaism. I am not a religious person, but a highly spiritual person who seeks out ways to think about my own existance. The Kabbala, a mystic aspect of Judaism, places significance on letters, numbers, and words, to establish meaning and value. Each word is broken into letters which are equivilent to numbers, each number equals a key concept and each key concept relates a meaning. In this piece I take this idea add it to mathematical symbols, to devise a way that life can be understood and lived well. So if I take the number ten, which means unity of thought and action, add it to 3 which means understanding, divide that by 9, which means potential, subtract 6 which means perfect union and multiply that all by 0, which meanseternity, the SUM can be a perfectly lifed life. It is as if there is a certain mathematical equasion for this idea. The hands gesture in a guarding or protecting pose and the blue bands represent a winding path.
