| La Turista
(with the artist) |
| La Turista tells a story of lost culture. The female figure is constructed of bone forms, which are assembled to resemble a Mexican tree of life. There is growth in the bone “branches”, but no roots. Inside the front panel there is a series of distinctly Mexican imagery, but it is not connected to any other part of the piece. Even the word Turista is spelled incorrectly, implying a deficiency with the language...it is not my native tongue. | ||||||||||
